The communications revolution
and the emergence of digital media has created an unprecedented
challenge for the traditional music industry. However,
music itself is thriving as the internet enables artists
to reach new audiences across the globe and to record
and distribute high quality music more cheaply than at
any point in history.
As a result today’s audiences are becoming more
familiar with the music of other cultures and the most
creative musicians in all styles, continue to cross boundaries
and blur the distinctions between musical genres. As music
becomes global, new styles are starting to emerge, that
take elements from around the world, to create something,
unique which is no longer rooted in any one culture and
cannot be easily categorized as jazz, rock, folk or world
music.
At Kissing Fish Music we are committed to providing a
showcase for the best of this new music. Using both digital
downloads and conventional media, we aim to reach global
audiences with music that transcends established styles
